We all know just how hot it can get in the Pilbara!

Newman Sports Courts urgently require shade. A Dutton Liberal Government will commit $2M to deliver an all-weather shelter over the Pauline Mataka Sports Courts.

Did you know that Netball first landed on Australian shores in 1897 and is now the biggest team sport in Australia?!

“Out in the bush, sport is more than a game;

It is the foundation of stronger, healthier and more connected communities.”

Fighting For Shade at

Newman Netball Courts

Families and young people in Newman deserve safe, sun-smart spaces to play sport year-round, but the extreme Pilbara heat makes that difficult.

That’s why I will deliver funding to build an all-weather shelter over the Pauline Mataka Netball Courts.

This is particularly important given Newman has an average temperature of 35 Degrees plus from October to March.

This project isn’t just about sports; it’s about giving young people a positive outlet. The benefits will be felt by the entire community.
